Hello!

Who Are We?
ASA (Authors Supporting Authors) is a networking group of authors and readers who promote avid reading while providing support to other authors. Visit our website to learn more about our group and members. www.asanetwork.webs.com

Authors Supporting Authors (ASA) was created on
September 5, 2007 by Linda R. Herman, a mother, wife, avid reader and author. After the creation of ASA, the members further contributed there creativity and hard work to make this networking group into what it is: A blessing in the making.

We want this to be an online place for authors to support other authors. We help ourselves by helping others. Our intentions are to reach a broader audience of avid and potential readers and writers. We want to rise above stereotypes and push through the walls of ignorance, while providing unlimited resources to our communities.

Interested in chatting with ASA or one of its members? If so go to our website and click on Contact Us and we’ll schedule a chat.

ASA MEMBERS CAUGHT IN THE ACT

LINDA R. HERMAN

“There are so many things killing the African American community. Consequences: When Love is Blind by Linda R. Herman is an eye opening novella.” Read entire review: Caught in The Act

Linda won
First Place in the Excerpts from the Black Expressions 2005 Fiction Contest. The name of her story was, “Cost of our Affairs.” Read the excerpt here: Caught in The Act.

After finishing Consequences-When Love is Blind by Linda Herman, I was nearly in tears. Her vivid story featuring Sade's character dealing with secrets and repeated lies from the man she devoted her life too was excellent…” Read the entire review: Caught in The Act.

PERON F. LONG

“The message that I hope to relay is one of understanding not only of conviction, but the process of conviction. We as a society often look for the results before the process. I always tell people that Salvation is a daily journey for some while a lifetime struggle for others. Without process there can be no positive results.” Quoted by Peron himself in his interview hosted by author Hazel Mills.
Read the entire interview: Caught In the Act.

“Most writers hope to see their work elevate to the big screen and I am no different.  However, I would have to say that my ultimate goal as an author would be to have longevity in this industry.” Quoted by Peron. Wanna read more? Caught In The Act

D.L.
SPARKS

Okay y'all. I know I am usually lighthearted with my blogs, but today I want to talk about love and hurt. Recently, I made a huge mistake. Now, do I wallow in self-pity or do I dust myself off and keep it moving? I am picking the latter. I was hurt by someone that I was very close to, and it took a minute for me to figure out how to process that....but then it hit me like a bus....” Quoted by D.L. herself. Want to read the rest? Click here:  Caught In The Act

D.L. Sparks spoke at the Girl’s
Summit at Hutchinson Elementary School. After dealing with the blow of her best friend, Monica Renee Bowie, D.L. is more passionate than ever about raising awareness in young girls and helping them make right choices. “Monica was my friend, my sister, and in the blink of an eye, she was gone,” said D.L. Sparks.

D.L. Sparks was a winner of the National Novel Writing Month in November 2007: Caught In The Act

TAMARA ANGELA GRANT

Give me space
I can only be me
You don't understand my gifts
Don't understand my dreams
and I don't expect you to see clearly
with eyes so green
Suffocating me with your envy
Stifling me with your hate”

“I’m originally from
Baltimore, MD currently living in Atlanta, GA. I love writing, reading and cooking (oh yeah eating!) My first novel is entitled, Promises Made, Promises Kept…” Quoted by Tamara  Caught In The Act.

“He grabbed me again, this time throwing me on the bed. He tied my hands and legs to the bedposts. He then straddled me and all I could do at that point was say a silent prayer. That was the only way that I would make it out of this alive.” An excerpt from Tamara’s book, Promises Made, Promises KeptCaught In The Act.

NANETTE BUCHANAN

“A native of
Newark, New Jersey now residing in Somerset. I am married and currently work full time for the State of New Jersey. I am a proud mother of three married children, I have been blessed with four grandchildren with the fifth one on the way. I have been writing since 1975. My writing began as idle doodling while attending Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.” Quoted by Nanette. Caught In The Act

“Poetry is caressed and then born.
It is the universal umbilical cord to our innermost thoughts.
It is where our verbal consciousness allows us to explore with visual insight
that which we dare not pick apart without an open mind…”

TINISHA NICOLE JOHNSON

“What Every Happened To Black Love?”  Read what Tinisha has to say about that: Caught In The Act

“Tinisha Nicole Johnson found a good balance of mystery, heartbreak, joy and romance; mixed it all together and came up with Searchable Whereabouts. Once I got sucked in - and it didn’t take long - I didn’t want to put the book down until I knew “whodunit”, how it was done, and why it was done.” Read the rest: Caught In The Act

“Many wonder why my website is entitled, A Writers Fantasy. Well my deepest passion is writing and my head is always swirling with so many thoughts and dreams.” Quoted by Tinisha. Caught In The Act

AUTHOR EVENTS & NEWS

It is about that time again! Time to book your rooms for WagFest The next stop Cincinnati October 17-19, 2008. WagFest is a Literary Conference and Bazaar established in 2007 with the self published author in mind. It is a place to learn what the literary industry doesn't want you to know, network, sell books and have fun and overall the importance of self sufficiency. WagFest has lived up to it's theme "Come as Strangers...Leave as Family" because all attendees can attest to the fact that we truly become extended family after attending WagFest. Find out more about this literary community, go to www.wagfestlitertainment.com and register today!

Even though WagFest was created with the self published author in mind, all authors, regardless of your publishing route, are welcome to attend. Interested in being a vendor, contact us at
wagfest2008@yahoo.com.
